The term “windows and mirrors” was coined by educator Emily Style. A mirror is a story that reflects a child’s own culture or experience and helps them celebrate their identity. A window is a story that offers a view into someone else’s perspective. Each of these books will be a window for some children and a mirror for others. As always, I read through hundreds of books that fit this theme and selected only the ones I found most beautiful and resonant.
Price includes 12 hardcover books delivered monthly, gift wrap, handwritten cards, personalized book plates, and shipping.
This subscription is not customizable and is generally suitable for children up to age 8.
